She struggles with emotional regulation, making friends and having self control. Her parent would love for her to be in an extracurricular activity so that she can learn skills that will help her in different areas of her life. As a middle child whose family devotes significant time and resources to supporting a sibling with special needs, she rarely has opportunities centered entirely around her own growth and interests. Because she is soft-spoken and hesitates to advocate for herself, participating in an extracurricular activity would give her a dedicated space to build self-confidence, find her voice, and shine. Peyton is one of 5 girls in the family. Dad recently was granted all rights to them, due to abuse by mom. She had been through a lot of trauma and would benefit from being able to participate in extracurricular activities. She currently lives in a 2 bedroom apartment with 7 people and does not have much room to play or run around.
