As the oldest of two siblings, he has shown remarkable resilience while navigating a year of significant instability, including multiple moves due to unfortunate family circumstances. Now that his family has finally secured safe housing, he is ready to move forward, but financial hardship remains a significant barrier to the extracurricular activities he deserves. Despite these obstacles, Emmitt has emerged as a natural leader; however, he is often his own toughest critic and struggles to see his own immense value. I believe that participating in extracurricular activities will be the turning point for him. This opportunity would provide a much-needed sense of stability and a dedicated space for him to build self-worth outside of his household responsibilities. Her parent has expressed genuine concern for her well-being and a strong desire to see her regain a sense of joy and stability. A mini-scholarship would provide this student with an opportunity to engage in a positive, enriching experience that could support her emotional well-being and help rebuild her confidence and social connection. Additionally, this support would have a meaningful impact on her family. Her mother is currently managing financial strain while raising her child on a single income, living paycheck to paycheck without additional support.
