Sophia, 8 years old, Wants to Swim
This opportunity would make a meaningful difference for this student as she is currently navigating significant changes at home due to her parents’ divorce. She is adjusting to living between two households, which has understandably brought emotional challenges. In recent months, she has become more withdrawn socially and has exhibited increased emotional sensitivity. Despite this, she remains a kind and thoughtful child with the potential to thrive when provided with the right support and positive outlets. Her parent has expressed genuine concern for her well-being and a strong desire to see her regain a sense of joy and stability. A mini-scholarship would provide this student with an opportunity to engage in a positive, enriching experience that could support her emotional well-being and help rebuild her confidence and social connection. Additionally, this support would have a meaningful impact on her family. Her mother is currently managing financial strain while raising her child on a single income, living paycheck to paycheck without additional support. This opportunity would not only ease some of that financial burden but also allow her to provide her child with an experience that promotes happiness, resilience, and a sense of normalcy during a difficult time. Dillon, 6 years old, Wants to Swim
Teacher Nomination:"As the third of four siblings in a busy household, this energetic student is working hard to master self-regulation and emotional control. Structured extracurricular activities would give him a positive outlet to channel his energy, build focus, and practice key self-control skills in a guided environment. However, with four children to support, tuition costs create a significant financial barrier for his dedicated mother. Receiving this mini-scholarship would provide him with the vital opportunity he needs to learn, grow, and develop life-long coping and self-management skills." - J.S.
Roman, 8 years old, would love to take Drum Lessons
This opportunity would make a difference for Roman because he is a wonderful little boy that has only been in the country a few years. His family is very low income from Russia and I think some extracurricular activities would really help the family make new friends and Roman will develop better social skills and it will help him to be less shy.
