Teacher Nomination:

"Sophia is a Wintu Native American from the Redding area, born and raised. She is an exceptionally bright and resilient 10-year-old, growing up as the youngest of three children alongside her two teenage siblings, with a dedicated single father. Over the past few years working with them, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible strength and perseverance of this family as they navigated significant hardship. Through every challenge, her father has shown unwavering love and commitment to providing a supportive, stable environment for his children. Playing on a sports team would be a transformative opportunity for Sophia. Giving her a place to build confidence, build strong friendships, and thrive in a positive group environment. Community support to make this dream a reality would mean the world to Sophia and her family." -N.L
